AMD unveils Ryzen 6000 series processors for laptops with new Zen 3+ core

AMD unveiled a new generation of processors at CES 2022, as promised. Ryzen 6000 AMD processors are available in different models with up to 8 cores and Zen 3 + architecture, 5 GHz frequency with Max Shift technology, and RDNA 2 graphics processor.

Like the previous generation, the Ryzen 6000‌ family of accelerated chips (APUs) have been developed in two categories: the Ryzen 6000H for powerful laptops and the Ryzen 6000U for lightweight and slim laptops. These chips use cores with an improved Zen 3 + architecture, are produced with 6nm lithography, and are the first AMD mobile chips with integrated graphics based on RDNA 2 architecture.

Ryzen 6000 H series processors

The biggest members of this family are the Ryzen 9 6980HX, which uses the Zen 3 + architecture, which is an improved version of Zen 3. In the Ryzen 9 6980HX processor, we are faced with 8 cores and 16 strings. The base frequency of this processor is equal to 3.30 GHz, and in boost mode, it reaches 5.00 GHz. This processor is equipped with 16 MB of L3 cache along with 4 MB of L2 cache. The thermal design power of HX processors is higher than 45 watts.

One of the biggest changes to these processors is the use of AMD RDNA 2 graphics architecture. The highest models use Radeon 680M graphics with 12 computing units or 768 cores that have a frequency of nearly 2 GHz. The Ryzen 6000 processors perform graphically much better than Vega graphics in previous generations and support LPDDR4X and DDR5.

After these processors, it's time for the Ryzen 5 6600H / HS, which has 6 cores and 12 strings and is based on the Zen 3 + architecture. The base and boost frequencies of this processor are 3.30 and 4.50 GHz, and it uses 16 MB of L3 cache along with 3 MB of L2 cache. The thermal design power of the H model is 45 watts and the HS model is 35 watts. The GPU used in these processors uses 6 computing units or 384 cores with a frequency of 1900 MHz.

Ryzen 6000 U series processors

The highest processor in this series is called the Ryzen 7 6800U, which uses the Zen 3 + architecture. This processor is equipped with 8 cores and 16 strings and has 16 GB of L3 cache. The base and boost frequencies of this processor are 2.7 and 4.7 GHz, respectively, and it uses 12 RDNA 2 graphics computing units with a frequency of 2200 MHz. Its thermal design power is in the range of 15 to 28 watts.

Finally, we are faced with the updated 5000U Ryzen processors, which include three processors. These processors, called Ryzen 7 5825U, Ryzen 5 5625U, and Ryzen 3 5425U, use the Zen 3 architecture and are produced with 7nm lithography.

Good news for gamers

Gamers are the most excited society for releasing new series of Ryzen. According to James Lin, General Manager, Acer Inc, partner of AMD, “Acer’s partnership with AMD allows us to continue to push boundaries for gamers. Powering our systems with the latest processor technologies enhances the gameplay experience by giving customers the performance they need to play – and win” so the gamers should be happy for this support.

Also, Shawn Yen, Product management director of the gaming business of Asus said “We are thrilled to power our Asus laptops with the new AMD Ryzen processors to provide gamers incredible visuals and extraordinary performance”

Most companies are excited to use this new technology in their products. They are trying to win more hearts between people and keep their users satisfied.

Buying laptop

With this new technology, new laptops in 2022 will be made with the new Ryzen series. Some popular laptops like Asus laptops with this new technology may become more popular. Asus laptops have a special place among gamers. So this new technology is good news for gamers too.

Another good news for Lenovo lovers too. Lenovo laptops are affordable and also good laptops to use for most people. They will also be equipped with new technology in 2022.

Good news for Lenovo fans

Luca Rossi the president of the intelligent devices group of Lenovo said “Our partnership with AMD strengthens our PC portfolio across segments and helps us to continually deliver more choices of cutting-edge innovations to our customers” he also said, “With the increased need for high-quality responsiveness on the go and powerful entertainment experiences while at home, Lenovo is working to further our mission of providing smarter technology for all”. This is proof that the new technology opened its way into the market.

Tech lovers are waiting for this new series. Users can see better performances and gamers have this chance to experience better gameplays and all of these are thanks to the new series of AMD Ryzen.
